Omni at International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement

"OMNI attended ISHM (International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement) in Oklahoma City this month. ISHM has a 91-year history of educating the industry in fluid measurement and control. It is well attended by industry professionals, and presents an excellent opportunity for networking.

This year, in addition to a strong presence of fundamental courses geared toward transferring industry knowledge to the next generation of professionals, we're also seeing trends towards a diversity in solutions and how traditional measurement solutions are taking advantage of innovations and the cloud to create efficiencies and enhance measurement capabilities."

New Headquarters

OMNI Flow Computers, Inc., the world-class technology company specializing in flow computer products for the oil and gas industry, celebrates 25 years of incorporation by announcing a $6 million expansion investment in cutting-edge premises in Sugar Land's industrial park.

The purpose-built contemporary office and production facility on Cardinal Meadow Drive offers nearly 40,000 square feet of flexible space planning. It will facilitate a virtual doubling of engineering employees during the next five years.

Chief Executive Alan McCartney believed it was time to make the commitment to growth, stating, "We have installations in almost 100 countries, but we had reached the point where to achieve our real potential we had to move on. This relocation delivers us the production facilities to double capacity in the next three years to meet industry demand for our products. Under this one roof, we can now undertake not only our hardware and software design, software development, and product assembly but also offer a hugely expanded capacity for hands-on and virtual training. It revolutionizes our capabilities."

The enhanced training capacity is an additional benefit for OMNI customers and represents a significant growth area for the company's services. Using the best of interactive wi‑fi and audiovisual technology, the company can now offer customized training and conferencing services for up to 100 attendees. This is in addition to improved remote Web-enabled training and customer support. Clients will also be able to enter the production premises and see the build quality of the computers in assembly and test.

The move highlights the company's reputation for innovation. The new open plan layout is conceived to alter the way employees interface and enhance productivity. Alan continues, "I am a great believer that workplace architecture shapes working practice, and that as an employer you have a responsibility to design a supportive working environment. We are a multi-generational company that constantly uses psychometric analysis to improve communications and performance. Designing this new facility is an extension of that business practice and sends out the message we are not asleep at the switch."
